Control is the key. The last thing to do is to panic.

Of course it is easier said than done. And it is different than one thinks. We might imagine how it might be, but from experience I can say it is different when it comes to it.

Not to panic means not ta make an uncontrolled move. So, the last thing to do is to slam the brakes.

The problem when a tire bursts is that the car becomes unstable and uneven. Also there is a difference between the front and the rear tire blowing. The front tire blowing is the lesser evil than the rear tire going.

In either case it is important not to brake suddenly as the car is unstable. Trying to reduce speed very quickly will bring the instability out of control. Once this is happening the car is lost.

As soon as it is clear that the tire has burst make sure to stay on the throttle and only slowly reduce it and try to get into neutral as softly as possible while holding the car in the best possible direction under the circumstances.

Wild steering maneuvers will only further destabilize the car.

Only when the car is reasonably well behaving it is time to slowly reduce speed.

The only exception to not hard breaking is when the decision has to be made whether crashing the car into a solid object or better risking the car rolling.

Preventing a tire burst out is better than experiencing one:

1. Check tire pressure regularly.
2. Check tires regularly for deformation and damage
3. Do not drive with slow puncture. Repair the tire.
4. Make sure that you drive on to the kerb very slowly.
3. When hitting a pothole, check tire and rim immediatelyas well as keeping an eye on it if no immediate signs show.
6. Make sure that tires are not used over there shelf life.

Very rarely in these days tires have a manufacturing defect. Therefore the above precautions should make pretty sure that it is unlikely to happen unless one might pick up some debri on the road.

To help the eventuality it is to prepare. Well, training in real terms is not possible unless one has got a lot of money to play with. However, everyone can mentally train such a situation by thinking it through. Even if it comes different then thought, the reaction in such a situation will be much more relaxed and familiar than just being caught totally by surprise.

In this instance every little helps.
